In the next week, we'll be introducing four new online programs under our "Bridges To Recovery" category. "At The Crossroads," "Recovery Jump-Start," "Recovery At Home," and the most powerful relapse prevention program ever introduced will all be available online. For advanced information prior to the formal launch, please email us today through the Contact Page.

Welcome to All Positive Options.com, a rich resource of the most up-to-date, accurate, and relevant information about addiction and recovery.  Our site is updated on a continual basis, 24 hours per day, every day of the year.  In fact, some of our regular visitors characterize our site as a cross between a web site and a "blog," because most sections of the site receive daily updates.  There are also no "pop-ups" on our site, or for that matter, ads of any kind.

The Real Science Of Addiction & The Art Of Recovery

We're entering a new era in both the science of addiction and what we refer to at All Positive Options, the "art" of recovery. The days of addiction simply being about bad choices, character weakness and poor morality are on their way out.  And they're being replaced with new evidence-based research that's enabling us to understand the precursors for addiction, the profound neurological changes the addicted person experiences, and how we can better help those seeking recovery.

Cutting edge science is proving conclusively that for a variety of nature/nurture reasons, we're not all equally equipped when it comes to desire states, impulsivity, and urges. Society is now becoming enlightened as to the scientific realities of addiction and the critical need for more "holistic" approaches to recovery to ensure long-term success.  At the very least, we're finally beginning to realize the futility of addressing addiction with a simple criminal conviction, instead of treating it as a complex, yet treatable health condition.

In our "How-To" Section, you'll find great information including tutorials on recognizing the signs of alcoholism, selecting a treatment facility and program, talking to kids about drugs and alcohol, compulsive gambling, internet-related addictions plus much more.  In addition, if you're involved in a 12 Step fellowship like Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous, you'll want to have a look at "The Big Words In The Big Book," which you'll find in our Products and Programs section.

You'll also find some terrific programs you can take via email that address many of the common issues that underlie addictions.  Issues like toxic thinking, low self-esteem, poor goal setting skills, and other things that often sabotage an otherwise good program of recovery.

In our Addiction Library - Drug Index, you'll find information on cocaine, club drugs, heroin, and in our Methamphetamine Section, we've developed what's widely considered the most comprehensive examination of meth available anywhere in the world.  In fact, one of the most visited pages on our entire site is The Other Faces Of Meth, the only place you'll see just how incredibly infectious meth use has become in North America, affecting every strata and level of society.

And at every opportunity, subjects on our site are discussed both from an intellectual perspective, and from the "real world" perspective of the addict or alcoholic as well.

Our primary goal is always straightforward - to educate and inform by providing accurate, current information in the proper context without the use of scare tactics, misinformation, exaggeration, or distortion.  In fact, to be perfectly honest. the only people who don't like our site are those who know very little about addiction and recovery and for some unknown reason, seem to be doing their best to remain ignorant about these subjects.

If you'd like to know more about our thinking concerning addiction and recovery, and the philosophy that basically drives all aspects of our organization, the first place on the site you'll want to visit is "Who We Are."  Alternatively, if you'd like to see a descriptive site overview, click HERE.

Thank you for visiting us today!  Enjoy the site.
